COMMUNITY GARDEN
The Community Garden is planted. We had a good group of our members, master gardeners and junior gardeners planting. Now we can watch it grow and make good vegetables.
As the crops come in we will distribute them to people in need. That will include, but not exclusively, those who can’t afford groceries, those who can’t grow vegetables any more, the Food Bank and Breaking Bread that gives baskets of food to those who come to The Messenger to eat on the third Saturday of each month.
We will need help with weeding, harvesting and delivery of the vegetables. We will have a scheduled work time every Tuesday and Saturday at 9:00 am. But, if you want to pull or weed in the evening please do. We also could use grass clippings, leaves and mulch for the paths between rows.
Please call me at 825- 4230 to give me names of people you think could benefit from our vegetables.
