We have begun our journey into the Advent season! This Sunday will be our first Sunday of Advent with hope as our theme. Before we move forward I must say a word of thanks to our Sanctuary Choir, Children’s Choirs, Sanctuary Handbells, our staff, tech crew, Donna and Jim McMurtrie and the worship committee for a fantastic Hanging of the Green and Family Workshop last Sunday evening. I hope you got to mingle a bit with friends and several new faces in our midst. Now, here we go…
Community Chorus’ Messiah – Sunday, December 10, First Presbyterian Church, 6pm.
FCC Worship Orchestra performs at Pride Elementary School on Chorus Concert, Monday, December 11. (yes, we now tour!)
FCC Music Ministry Christmas Program, Sunday, December 17, 6pm, Sanctuary (Sanctuary Choir, Vocal Ensemble, Orchestra, Handbells, Children’s Choirs)
Christmas Eve Meditative Communion – Sunday, December 24, 4pm
Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion – Sunday, December 24, 6pm
Be sure to invite friends, family, co-workers, etc. to our special seasonal events. Statistics show people are more open to attending church during Christmas and Easter than any other time of the year. Let’s make hay while the sun shines!
Special Note to Children’s Choirs – Donna McMurtrie and Angela Thomas’s choirs will be singing each Sunday of Advent on our theme song “Ring in Advent”. Children are to meet in their respective choir rehearsal rooms (302 and 307) at 10 am each Sunday. Workers will escort them to the sanctuary.
Sanctuary Choir – No rehearsals December 20 or 27. Enjoy the break! You deserve it!
